DOMINOX DM-022 Trigger-Start Propane Torch

Model DM-022CGA

2,372°F

4.1 out of 5 (2,060 ratings)

4 other models in this line share this rating.

Our best-known torch head: one press lights it, one button holds the flame.

What it does

This is the torch most people know us by. Press the trigger and it lights. Press the lock and the flame stays on while your hand relaxes, which matters on a joint that takes a minute to come up to heat.

It threads onto any CGA600 cylinder of propane, MAP or MAPP gas. We list the flame at up to 2,372°F, enough to braze copper pipe up to 3/4 inch.

Good to know before you buy

  • The gas cylinder is not in the box.
  • Open the gas knob fully before you pull the trigger. A half-open valve wears the igniter.
  • Above 3/4 inch copper the joint heats slowly. That work wants a larger tip.

Great propane torch head

Very heavy duty construction and dependable flame ignition and control.BUT, when I first tried the torch it failed to light. I found the problem was with the spark wire was not inside a small spring in the torch head. Maybe during assembly? Once I placed the spring over the wire it worked flawlessly ever since.

Great Quality Torch!

The Dominick's Torch DM-022 is a torch I hadn't tried before. When it came time to replace one of my other torches, I noticed this brand cost about 40% less than the one I had been buying, so I decided to give it a chance.I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this torch.

not worth the purchase

i usually do not write a review unless something is top notch or not worth the purchase. This one is not worth the purchase. Either the spark is not hot enough to light the torch or the spring is too week to return the start button, or both. I have had it 1 year and it really only lasted about 6 months.
