Cut the pipe, clean the end, heat the joint. We build the tools for those three moves and sell each one by its number: the size it takes or the heat it gives.

Great propane torch head
Very heavy duty construction and dependable flame ignition and control.BUT, when I first tried the torch it failed to light. I found the problem was with the spark wire was not inside a small spring in the torch head. Maybe during assembly? Once I placed the spring over the wire it worked flawlessly ever since.

Works Great
Works great for cutting up to 2" pvc pipe - much easier and cleaner than using a hacksaw. It's a sturdy tool and is holding up well for me under moderate use. It can be operated with one hand, but it's a bit tricky to learn and it helps if you have larger hands. Even so, it makes the job of cutting pvc pipe SO MUCH easier. Great purchase.

Heavy-duty? NOT
I was pretty disappointed with the durability of the blades provided with this product. I had purchased it in hopes of carving insulation foam for a model train layout, but the blades really struggled (i.e. bent and twisted) if I tried to do anything other than a straight cut.Very disappointing.
We are a tool brand with a narrow field: the hand, gas and battery tools that cut pipe, dress its ends and heat its joints.

DOMINOX began in 2020 with one product, a ratchet cutter for PVC pipe. The people behind the name had spent years making blades and cutting tools sold under other labels. They knew what failed first: a blade that dulls, a ratchet that slips, a handle that flexes.
The first cutters under our own name fixed those three things in that order. An SK5 blade, a ratchet with a positive stop and a die-cast aluminium handle. Two of those early models are still in the range, and one of them is the cutter most buyers choose.
Plumbers who bought the cutters asked for a torch. Our answer was the DM-022: a cast handle, a trigger that lights the flame and a button that holds it. It fits the propane and MAP cylinders sold in every hardware store.
It is now our best-known tool, with 2,060 ratings on the DM-022 line alone. Around it grew a family: a regulated torch for work in awkward positions, plain brass heads with no igniter to fail, and wide burners for charcoal and firewood.

We add a tool when a job in our field needs one and we can say plainly what it does. Every DOMINOX tool carries a number that matters: the largest pipe a cutter takes, the tube sizes a reamer fits, the heat a torch is listed for.
That number is on the page before the photographs. If your pipe is 2 inches across, a cutter rated for 1-5/8 is the wrong tool, and we would like you to know before you order. Our size finder exists for that reason: you give it a diameter and it names the tools that take it.
Many of our buyers are trades: plumbers, HVAC and refrigeration techs, irrigation crews. Many others are owners fixing their own house. Both groups write reviews, and both are blunt.
We read them. The brass torch has buyers who could not keep it lit on a full cylinder. The hot knife has buyers who bent a blade by pushing too hard. You will find those notes on the tool pages, next to the praise.

We will not tell you a torch is safe in any hands or that a hand cutter replaces a saw on every pipe. Heat and blades need care, and each page says where the tool stops.
We also take no payment ourselves. When you press an orange button you finish the purchase with our retail partner, who handles delivery and returns.

Three reads on doing the job right, each built on a rule we quote from its source.

A square cut, a clean edge, then the flame.

The charge goes to a recovery machine, never to the air.
Read the guideNo. Every DOMINOX torch is sold without fuel. The torch heads thread onto standard CGA600 cylinders of propane, MAP or MAPP gas.
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe, not the nominal size printed on it. Then pick a cutter whose limit is above that figure. Our size finder does this for you.
No. The ratchet cutters are for plastic pipe and hose. For copper, brass and aluminium tube use a wheel cutter such as the CT-650.
The usual cause is a gas knob that is only part open. Open it fully, then pull the trigger. A few buyers also report an igniter wire that needed reseating.
With the electric pipe cutters and the cordless hot knife, yes. The drain auger is sold as a bare tool and takes a Makita 18V battery.
Our retail partner does, at checkout. We answer questions about the tools themselves.
