What it does
Half a pound of ratchet cutter for the small pipe that makes up most home plumbing. Squeeze, let the ratchet catch, squeeze again, and the SK5 blade walks through the wall.
It cuts PVC, CPVC, PPR, PEX and hose up to 1-1/4 inch outside diameter.
It is a step in one of our job rows: Cut PVC and PEX to length.
Good to know before you buy
- 1-1/4 inch is the outside diameter. Measure the pipe, not the label on it.
- Cold PVC can crack under any ratchet cutter. Warm the pipe first in winter.
- No spare blade in the box.

Worked very well for the project I bought it for.
I bought this to cut rigid plastic strips for leveling a shower pan. For that purpose, it was perfect. Using any other tool (hacksaw, jig saw, etc.) would have been a mother bear. If you were to use it to cut fine material, or very small tubing, it might not cut cleanly, but would still be easier than anything else I've tried in the past.
