What it does

The jaw is a U. It presses on both sides of a joint and leaves the seam open in the middle, so you can see and reach the weld while the parts stay put.

It holds angle iron, square tube and sheet. A lever releases it.

It is a step in one of our job rows: Hold it while you weld.

Good to know before you buy

• Spatter sticks to the jaws in time. Brush them off.
• It is a holding clamp. Do not use it as an earth clamp.
• The U-jaw suits flat and square stock. Round bar slips in it.
